This is the Dan Mar farm (thanks to the faded writing on the side of the barn) and is on the list of Historic Sites in Maryland. It is right off of Hess Road as you come in to Leitersburg from Rouzerville. Built in the mid to late 1800’s, the farm sits on close to 200 Acres of land.  It’s architecture is an example of regional vernacular, but shows evidence of early 20th century trends.  The complex includes the large frame bank barn and a two story brick house which includes a wrap around one story porch.  I pass it three times a week on my way to Hagerstown and with the gray skies, felt like today was a good day to get a shot.  September 21, 2011
