Steeple Chase

Another day of blue skies on my way home today drew my eye to the rising spires in Emmitsburg again.  This time the gold glint of the cross on top of St. Josephs flashed against the sun and naturally I had to shoot it.  St Joe’s was established in 1793 and has sat on the same parcel of land for the past 225 years.  The roots of the Catholic church date even further back but St. Joe’s provides the anchor to a rich history.  Feb 11, 2011
